Sat, April 26, 3:20 to 4:50pm MDT (3:20 to 4:50pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 1

Abstract

This study examines the impact of group cooperative learning on the cultivation of top talents in higher education. Through interviews with teachers and students at a first-class university in China, it is found that group cooperation is mainly based on acquaintances, teacher authority, and multiple evaluations. There is a cooperative culture of "harmony is the most important", which reflects the alienation of student learning and cooperation under the meritocracy evaluation system. Finally, the study puts forward relevant suggestions to promote group cooperation, such as establishing a common contract, creating a safe atmosphere, changing the evaluation method, and emphasizing the academic spirit.
