Abstract

Although teacher education programs have offered P-12 online field experiences to address widening gaps in preparation for online teaching, previous nationwide systematic examinations reported that the expansion of online field experiences has been limited (Author, 20XX; Author, 20XX). To comprehensively describe the state of P-12 online field experiences following COVID-19 pandemic disruptions, this study administered an online survey to employees who hold positions affiliated with teacher education programs in the U.S. The results indicate that programs have maintained efforts in offering online field experiences with greater variation in the design of offered experiences. However, negative perceptions of online field experiences have intensified. Evidence-based insights into strengthening the design of online field experiences and preparation for online teaching are discussed.
