Abstract

Communication and collaboration with parents are often underdeveloped skills in teacher preparation programs (Munthe & Westergård, 2023). Even less is known about novice teacher candidates and their communication with a multilingual parent. Using a live, person-to-person simulated conversation with a multilingual parent and translator, this quasi-experimental study aims to explore the following question: How do teacher candidates navigate a multilingual simulated parent-teacher interaction centered on inclusion?
