Sat, April 26, 3:20 to 4:50pm MDT (3:20 to 4:50pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 2-3

Abstract

Recognizing the issue that guidelines for educational technology (EdTech) program development remain meager, we conducted a content analysis with the successful example of development and validation of an evidence-based mathematics gaming intervention funded by a series of federal funding to offer insights to struggling EdTech developers and consumers. We analyzed our meeting notes and other development documents as well as interviews and questionnaires, and classroom observation results. Our findings indicate that the collaborative efforts among university researchers, business partners, and educators contributed to the game’s birth and growth. We will present, more in detail, the iterative process of the game development, each stakeholder's unique role and contribution, as well as critical aspects and components of the game.
