This article examines the utterances and writings of three PSTs/Early career teachers, revealing insights into the school-to-prison nexus. Grounded in language ideologies and the theory of racialized organizations (Ray, 2019), the study utilizes data from a three-year qualitative study in the western United States, including teachers' writings, classroom discussions, and Zoom meeting transcripts. Analysis shows how racialized tracking and dehumanizing disciplinary procedures shape students' experiences. The article argues that understanding teachers' language practices can enhance teacher education programs, allowing PSTs and early career teachers to critically engage with the implications of their language use on their students.
