EduVoices: Podcasting as a Medium for Foster Care Development

Abstract

"EduVoices: Championing Foster Futures" is a pioneering podcast research initiative aimed at providing continuing education for stakeholders in the foster care system. The project addresses the unique challenges faced by foster children in educational settings by leveraging podcast interviews with educators, CASA volunteers, social workers, and legal experts. By exploring current educational practices and policies, the initiative seeks to identify knowledge gaps and propose effective strategies to support foster children's educational and social-emotional journeys. The use of podcasts, supported by emerging research on their efficacy, aims to enhance stakeholder engagement and professional development, ultimately informing policy and shaping future research to improve outcomes for foster children.
