Utilizing Communication Platforms to Engage Online Learners

Abstract

This action research study utilized a mixed-methods approach to evaluate the effectiveness of utilizing a communication platform to engage with online learners. Five faculty members in a doctoral program implemented the use of the Remind app to communicate with students. Assessment of this intervention included both a pre- and post-implementation survey. Initial results indicate positive outcomes of the Remind platform as well as challenges that will be addressed in future phases of this study.
