Abstract

This paper advances a framework for fostering Undocuqueer students’ sense of belonging in higher education. Utilizing Undocumented Critical Theory (UndocuCrit), the authors address the unique challenges faced by Undocuqueer college students due to their intersecting identities. The proposed framework highlights the significance of recognizing endemic fear within undocumented communities, diverse experiences with liminality, the value of parental sacrifices and chosen families, and the concept of acompañamiento. Our work synthesizes existing literature and offers actionable recommendations for higher education institutions to systematically foster a sense of belonging for Undocuqueer collegians, ultimately contributing to their academic success and well-being.
