This duoethnography shows how two researchers co-constructed and reconstructed meaning from data analysis during a collaborative ethnographic project. We draw on transcript data from recorded sessions in which we analyzed qualitative data. Using Orellana’s (2019) mindful ethnography, we explore the dynamic, reciprocal meaning-making processes in a research partnership. Initial analysis highlights the ways we leverage our insider and outsider perspectives to generate deeper understanding of our data, specifically the ways we (re)story our understanding. We use examples from our transcript data as examples of renewal and remaking meaning. Our presentation models some ways duoethnographic methods can remedy and restore research(ers) through decolonizing research.
