Labor at the Margins: Advancing a Multi-Analytical Approach Toward Organizational Change in Higher Education

Abstract

The purpose of this scholarly paper is to advance a critical multi-analytical approach that can be helpful for deeply interrogating, examining, and addressing institutional responses and co-option of Black student demands. Critical to my argument and purpose of this paper is to acknowledge how the demands of Black students challenge institutional cultures, processes, and structures, while also amplifying the historic labor and freedom dreaming of the most marginalized. I present a set of propositions that are emerging from this scholarly work but show promise for this framework.
