Abstract

This study explores the integration of culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) and mainstream students in Dual Language Bilingual Education (DLBE) programs through the collaborative construction and performance of bilingual scripts using artificial intelligence (AI). Building on performativity theory, the research aims to address integration issues in DLBE programs and enhance bi/multilingual identity construction among students. Using a qualitative methodology, the study will gather data through interviews, observations, artifacts, and audio-visual recordings in Fall 2024 semester. Anticipated outcomes include improved metalinguistic and metacultural competence, culturally relevant learning experiences, and enhanced integration among CLD and mainstream students. The study contributes to bilingual education research by integrating AI as a tool for fostering sociocultural competence and collaborative learning.
