This study integrates Rogers' person-centered approach with the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework to enhance online learning. Using mixed methods, we examined how instructors' person-centered feedback impacts student-instructor relationships and learning outcomes in online courses. Qualitative analysis of student journals and quantitative data from the Barrett-Lennard Relationship Inventory revealed correlations between Rogerian principles and CoI presences. Results suggested instructor genuineness positively related to social presence, while regard correlated with cognitive presence. These findings offer strategies for educators to create engaging, supportive online learning environments. By addressing student isolation and disengagement, this research contributes to renewing and improving educational practices in the digital age, aligning with AERA's theme of “Just Education Renewal.”
