Abstract

This study explores the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) familiarity and socio-cultural capital on student academic performance, drawing on data from the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) which includes 36,423 student observations from 20 countries. The analysis reveals that ICT familiarity enhances academic outcomes but is significantly moderated by socio-cultural factors such as home possessions and student-teacher relationships. This research underscores the complex interplay between digital resource use and socio-cultural backgrounds, providing critical insights for optimizing educational strategies.
