Abstract

Book two of the series, Baila Comigo, the session highlights stories from Latinas who have held leadership roles in higher education. The scarcity of Latina representation in leadership roles in higher education is well documented, therefore is a need to discuss issues related to Latina advancement in white main streamed organizations. Presenters identify unique mentoring needs of Latina leaders and offer a framework for Latina Advancements while remaining true to their roots. These roots are evidenced throughout the themes of the book which includes platicas (Chicana feminist methodology) dichos (proverbs), testimonios (personal narratives) and consejos (recommendations).
