Inquiry as Resonance: Rosa’s Resonance in an Axiological and Transformative Qualitative Inquiry

Fri, April 25, 9:50 to 11:20am MDT (9:50 to 11:20am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 1

Abstract

In this theoretical presentation, I offer Inquiry as Resonance, an axiological-focused qualitative inquiry practice that seeks to amplify transformative resonances in the world. This inquiry practice gets to work with Rosa’s (2019) modes of resonance that includes the qualities (i.e., af<-fection, e->motion, transformation, and uncontrollability) as well as horizontal (i.e., human actors), vertical (i.e., art, history, and the like), and diagonal (i.e., structural and ideological entities) axes that create resonances between a human actor and the interconnected world in which they live. Inquiry as Resonance creates an ethical imperative by advocating for an accountable “I” that creates transformative modes of resonance in qualitative inquiry practices.
