Wed, April 23, 12:40 to 2:10pm MDT (12:40 to 2:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 2-3

Abstract

Focusing on the theme “Research, Remedy, and Repair: Toward Just Education Renewal,” this paper explores the scholarship of culturally responsive education (CRE) and the application of the five pursuits- identity, skills, intellect, criticality, and joy, into Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). By reimagining IEPS through the five pursuits the proposed approach aims to remedy and repair historical and ongoing injustices, foster just educational practices that meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities and improve outcomes for students with intersectional identities.
