Mapping the Educational Psychology Landscape: A Bibliometric Analysis of Past Trends and Future Directions (Poster 28)

Abstract

This study presented an updated bibliometric analysis of publications sourced from six prominent educational psychology journals, spanning from January 2000 to April 2023. A total of 4,970 publications were systematically reviewed to offer a comprehensive overview of research trends in educational psychology. Contributions emanate globally, with predominant contributions from the United States These countries exhibit significant collaboration networks. The University of Maryland had the highest productivity, while the University of Michigan garnered the highest citation count. Australian Catholic University displayed the most extensive collaborative ties with other institutions. In terms of prolific authors, Trautwein authored the highest number of articles. The seminal work by Ryan and Deci (2000) on self-determination theory emerged as the most influential study within the field.

Authors
