“Connecting the Dots”: Analyzing District Partnership Team Networks to Center Equity in School Principal Preparation

Thu, April 24, 1:45 to 3:15pm MDT (1:45 to 3:15pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 404

Abstract

This study explores the factors essential for enhancing equity within principal preparation programs (PPPs) by examining the partnership network of Greene School District (GSD) and its stakeholders, including universities, state agencies, and community organizations. Since 2021, these entities have collaborated on the Equity-Centered Pipeline Initiative (ECPI) funded by the Wallace Foundation. Using social network analysis (SNA), we assessed the development of these partnerships from 2022 to 2023, focusing on improving candidate access and emphasizing equity in PPPs. Key findings include increased network cohesion and effective coordination among stakeholders. This highlights the importance of strong inter-organizational relationships in advancing equity in educational leadership preparation.
