Thu, April 24, 3:35 to 5:05pm MDT (3:35 to 5:05pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Bluebird Ballroom Room 3A

Abstract

Given the increasing need for self-regulated learning (SRL) and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), this study provides a systematic review of selected empirical studies on AI for SRL. In total, 25 studies met the selection criteria and were reviewed. This study offers an overview of the state of AI for SRL. The reviewed studies employed various AI technologies, such as chatbots, Intelligent Tutoring Systems, adaptive learning systems, e-books, and educational games, in different approaches and stages of SRL. However, the review also revealed limitations and concerns regarding the use of AI to facilitate SRL. To address these issues, we propose an AI-SRL Framework to guide educators and learners in integrating AI technologies to enhance SRL.
