Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to let go of and mourn our long held beliefs about research practices through collaborative feminist body mapping. We are graduate students and a faculty advisor, studying critical qualitative research methodology at a Southern R1 institution. Drawing on Sara Ahmed’s (2017, 2023) feminist work, we completed two maps. We first mapped the positivist research practices we accepted without question. We then mapped more critical and feminist questions and responses to strike against that initial map. This work created space for us to live and research better in the disciplines and worlds we inhabit.
