Abstract

This study explored the relationship between teachers’ time perspectives (TPs) and their positive occupational well-being (POWB) and examined the mediating role of teacher self-efficacy (TSE) in the BTP-POWB relationship. The current study collected data from 1,287 teachers in China through a questionnaire survey. The results indicated significant positive associations between past positive, future TPs, and POWB, while significant negative associations were found between past negative, present fatalistic TPs, and POWB. The relationship between the present hedonistic TP and POWB was not significant. Additionally, the association between the BTP and POWB was mediated by TSE. This study offers insight into how to develop teachers’ well-balanced time perspective and improve their occupational well-being.
