Abstract

The purpose of this project is to engage underrepresented children in learning Data Science (DS) and develop their knowledge, skills, and disposition toward math and technology learning in real world applications using Geospatial Technology (GT) and Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching (CLRT) approaches. A total of 47 underrepresented children participated in in this study. A mixed-research design was used in data collection and analysis to investigate the effects of GT+CLRT on underrepresented children’s disposition and learning outcomes in data science and GT skills. The results of data analysis show that all children enhanced their productive disposition and improved their knowledge in data sciences and GT skills.
