Abstract

Digitalization is transforming all areas of life through new technologies and networking, forcing organizations and employees to adapt. The study aims on identifying current discourse on how the digitalization of work affects professional learning and development. A two-phase structured literature review is conducted to identify and analyze relevant literature. Preliminary revealed four main themes: (a) digital transformation of work, (b) competence requirements, (c) digital challenges and (d) effects of digitalization. The study provides deeper insights about relevant discussions within these four themes regarding the impact of digitalization on professional learning and development. Practical and scientific implications are derived.
