Abstract

Youth in foster care with and without disabilities navigate complex education and child welfare systems that often exacerbate barriers to educational success and result in higher absenteeism, grade repetition, and lower graduation rates (Cutuli et al., 2013; Unrau et al., 2012), This research explores the relationship among institutional trust, school social network support, and academic outcomes for 24 foster youth in high school. Our findings reveal that higher trust levels significantly increase the likelihood of students identifying supportive relationships within their schools.
