Wed, April 23, 10:50am to 12:20pm MDT (10:50am to 12:20pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 108

Abstract

Using self-study research with a mind towards just remedy and repair, we sought to discover through feminist memory work how inherent opposing cultural forces (e.g., society’s view of women professors leaving family to study abroad) affect promote and/or restrict a professional educator’s identity development. We provide self-reflections from one author on the intricacies involved in oppressing women who are mothers in academia and how this affects their identity formation.
