Sun, April 27, 9:50 to 11:20am MDT (9:50 to 11:20am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 1

Abstract

This proposal examines the intersectional challenges Black women educators face in K-12 education, focusing on the pervasive influence of "hustle culture" and its detrimental effects on their instructional practices, professional growth, and overall well-being. By employing an intersectional framework, this study highlights the compounded discrimination based on gender and race, exacerbated by societal expectations of resilience and strength. This research aims to provide insights into the systemic barriers and biases affecting Black women educators and suggest strategies for fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
