Abstract

We share this narrative inquiry project to remedy and repair current anti-bilingual narratives and restrictive language policies in Arizona schools. Diné language immersion classrooms at Little Singer Community School and Rock Point Community School are sites for repairing these historical harms. School leaders and teachers at each school prepare for a future where the Diné language and culture are assets for the academic and social success of Diné students. It is within these spaces that pre- service teachers and teachers in neighboring schools engage in a community of practice with teachers who share their vision and who engage in daily teaching practices to support this vision.
