Abstract

This study integrating the job crafting theory and self-determination theory to investigate the potential mediating role of job crafting in the relationship between teacher collaboration and BNS. Using structural equation modelling and bootstrapping, we analysed data from a large sample of teachers (n=1954) in China. Our findings underscore the critical role of teachers' job crafting and elucidate the distinct patterns of influence that collaboration has on the satisfaction of the three basic needs of teachers. These insights contribute to the comprehension of the antecedent mechanisms of BNS, emphasize the significance of teachers’ job crafting, and broaden the existing understanding of teachers' proactive behaviour.
