Development and Validation of the Self-Regulated Learning Potential Scale for Chinese Students (Poster 46)

Wed, April 23, 2:30 to 4:00pm MDT (2:30 to 4:00pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

Using the Self-Regulated Learning Potential Scale (SRLPS) as the primary measurement tool, the current study aimed to conduct learner analytics among 13,166 Chinese students from grades 4 to 12. First, using confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis, we validated the underlying factor structure and performed the validity checks on the newly developed SRLPS. Second, we compared the differences in SRLPS by gender and grade to provide the overall display of students’ Self-Regulated Learning Potential. It is expected that this study will provide useful information about the SRLPS, including its reliability and validity. Moreover, this study can help guide decision-making at the individual, class, grade, school, local, and national levels with the implementation of the "double reduction" policy.
