Abstract

The purpose of this narrative inquiry merged with an intrinsic case study was to explore the experiences of queer women P-20 educational senior leaders' career trajectories Philadelphia, PA & New Orleans, LA. These regions provide unique environments for queer women P-20 senior educational leaders. Narratives and insights in context are provided by the researcher to inform future minoritized women in senior educational leadership in addition to providing insight for those in the power majority, as well as members of nondominant groups, to inform their practice as active advocates and co-conspirators. This research illuminates the multidimensional, complex, and often unspoken barriers that impede, inhibit, and affect women from seeking, attaining, and remaining in P-20 senior educational leadership roles.
