This study examines how gentrification impacts the educational outcomes of Latinx students in high schools located in gentrifying areas, contrasting them with those in non-gentrifying low-income neighborhoods. As gentrification alters residential demographics and economic conditions, its effects on local schools and student performance merit investigation. Specifically, this research aims to uncover whether the increasing affluence in gentrifying areas translates into improved academic outcomes for Latinx students or whether it exacerbates existing inequalities. Given the significant rise of the Latinx population within U.S. public schools, understanding these dynamics is crucial for developing strategies to ensure equitable educational opportunities. This study seeks to contribute to broader efforts to remedy educational disparities and repair systemic inequities within public education.
