Abstract

This manuscript is a companion piece to a study conducted during the 2020-21 school year, where principals predicted the staying power of changes made to schooling due to the pandemic. In this study, I conducted 20 interviews with 10 of the same principals in the original study, and asked: (1) Which, if any, of the predictions of the staying power of reforms made in response to the pandemic remained in schools post pandemic?; and (2) What impact do these reforms have on principal roles and responsibilities? An analysis of the data reveals the principals in this study accurately predicted the staying power of several reforms made in response to the pandemic, which has resulted in a more “virtual” profession.
