Abstract

Gender stereotypes impact collective intelligence in STEM careers in Chile, as revealed by a mixed-methods study. Fostering stereotype-free collaboration in environments that promote collective intelligence enhances individual abilities, reduces gender disparities, and improves performance, inclusivity, and productivity. Understanding these dynamics is critical for optimizing collective outcomes, as perceiving others' mental states and coordinating diverse perspectives to establish shared norms maximizes resource efficiency. These findings can inform educational interventions and workplace policies that address inequities and promote equitable collaboration. Developing collaboration skills is crucial for effective interaction in diverse settings, driving innovation and progress in male-dominated fields. The study has practical implications for educational programs and workplace policies, and theoretical implications for understanding collective intelligence and gender dynamics in collaborative efficiency.
