Examining the Feasibility of the FACES Facilitator Training to Prepare Community-Based FACES Interventionists

Sun, April 27, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 601

Abstract

FACES (Fostering Advocacy, Communication, Empowerment, and Support) is a psychoeducational intervention designed to support Black families raising autistic youth. FACES equips Black families with tools and strategies to improve inequitable access to services and to enhance outcomes for Black autistic children and families. In this multiple-baseline single case experimental design, four community-based providers completed a 16-hour hybrid FACES Facilitator Training (FFT) with coaching, and then conducted FACES in their respective communities. This presentation will include (a) an overview of the development of the FFT, (b) a description of the implementation of the FFT via a single-case experimental design, and (c) a description of the feasibility and acceptability of the FFT for community-based providers.
