Abstract

Relation between school discipline, educational aspirations, and college-going behaviors among Black youths.

Data from FFCWS was used to explore the relation between school discipline and college aspiration types and school discipline and college-going behaviors.

School discipline increased odd of thinking it is important to graduate from college, thinking they are likely to graduate from college, and talking to teacher/coach about college. School discipline decreased odds of talking to an adult about college, talking to parent/guardian, and talking to a guidance counselor.
