This systematic review examines the role of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs in cultivating global talents in China. The study scrutinizes 26 empirical studies published between 2004 and 2024, focusing on curriculum design, internationalization, student empowerment, and resource integration with parent institutions. Thematic analysis revealed four themes: Fostering Global Competence and Intercultural Understanding, Leveraging International Resources and Expertise, Promoting Active Learning and Student Empowerment, and Addressing Challenges and Facilitating Adaptation. A conceptual model, ‘The Confluence Model of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education for Global Talent Cultivation’, was developed to encapsulate the integration of Chinese and foreign higher education systems. Findings highlight the potential of these programs in bridging the knowledge divide between China and Western higher education systems, fostering a globally competent workforce.
