Abstract

The landscape of higher education is increasingly diverse, encompassing students from
various racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Research consistently indicates that
minoritized students face significant challenges in accessing and utilizing career services, which
subsequently affect their career development and outcomes. Falconer and Hays (2006) found that
African American students are less likely to utilize career services despite expressing a
significant need for such support, indicating potential systemic issues. Latino students also face
distinct and multifaceted challenges in their career development journeys. Arredondo et al.
(2014) identified several career development concerns specific to this group, including language
barriers, unsafe working conditions, and low-paying jobs.
