Sat, April 26, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

Dialogic classroom discussions have become increasingly important due to their positive impact on students' academic success. However, much research has focused on traditional texts with only written language. To address this gap and broaden our understanding of literacy, this study examines how multilingual learners engage with multimodal texts, such as infographics, in peer discussions. Findings highlight both the affordances and challenges of this approach and offer valuable insights for developing more inclusive and effective teaching strategies, contributing to the field of multimodal literacies.
