Abstract

This research focuses on a collaborative partnership between a Tier 1 Research University and a prominent school district in Alabama to create a comprehensive leadership succession plan. The Leadership Partnership Communities of Practice Model (LCPC) was used as a framework to evaluate key components of the partnership, ensuring success and sustainability. Information was gathered qualitatively, including document reviews, semi-structured interviews, observations, and follow-up surveys. Researchers found the partnership model closely aligned with the LCPC model, and the leadership program not only sustained during COVID-19 but grew stronger through accommodations and collaborations between the university and the school district. This research will aid other school districts and universities in developing collaborative, sustainable partnerships.
