Empowering Tomorrow's Educators: A Systematic Review of Technology Integration Factors in Preservice Teacher Education

Abstract

This systematic review synthesizes pre-service teachers' technology integration factors. The time frame for this systematic review was between 2013- Jan 2024 to represent the recent literature on technology. From an initial search of articles, we examined 104 articles for publication trends, research methods and technology integration factors. Based on our pre-service teachers' technology integration framework, there are two levels of technology integration among pre-service teachers as individual characteristics, which are background, affective, and cognitive factors and institutional characteristics that are training and institutional support. This review has implications for teachers, pre-service teachers, teacher educators, school administrators, educational technologists and future researchers.
