Thu, April 24, 1:45 to 3:15pm MDT (1:45 to 3:15pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

This single case study aims to explore how in-service teachers, enrolled in a three-semester-long personalized learning (PL) endorsement program, have transformed their practices into PL in their K-12 classrooms. Specifically, we explored how they implemented the pedagogical strategies supportive of learner agency, asset-based dispositions, and growth and mastery mindsets in their PL classrooms.
We examined the digital portfolio artifacts of 27 teachers collected and reflected on throughout their implementations. At the end of the final semester, one-on-one interviews were conducted with nine of them. Our findings contribute to the understanding of PL implementation in real classroom settings and offer practical insights for educators and policymakers aiming to promote equitable and effective personalized learning experiences in K-12 education.
