Abstract

This research builds upon past work on the use of action research as a structure to study the role of teacher as a decision maker of curriculum. This proposal examines how one teacher uses video-based action research to study the effectiveness of a curricular program recently adopted in the school. Case study methodology was used to understand how the teacher used video-based action research to greater understand her students’ interactions specific to the curriculum. Analysis of the data revealed that video-based action research served as a structure for the teacher to examine the complexities of implementing the curricular program within the context of a given classroom.
