Duoethnography is situated in the practice and examination of social justice, centering collaborative meaning making about a shared phenomenon such as qualitative interviewing. As a team of researchers, we share data from a duoethnographic project where we reflect upon the experience of being and doing socially responsible, queer research. Utilizing rich duoethnographic data, we illuminate how deep reflections can offer scholars an opportunity to interrogate (and in line with the AERA theme, potentially remedy and repair) educational research methods–namely qualitative interviews. We present three emergent categories that offer education scholars insights into queered educational research: 1) Who we are as individuals and researchers, 2) power dynamics between researcher and participant, and 3) researcher activism, accountability and humanizing practice.
