This mixed methods case study examined elementary educators’ experiences using MagicSchool AI to generate SEL behavior management plans. Sixteen K-6 teachers enrolled in a graduate classroom management course learned about SEL competencies and used MagicSchool AI to create behavior plans. Data sources included pre/post surveys, AI-generated plans, and plan evaluations. Findings revealed that participants found MagicSchool AI efficient and effective at producing comprehensive, culturally responsive SEL plans. Educators’ evaluation scores of AI-generated plans increased as they refined their prompting techniques. Participants emphasized the importance of combining AI recommendations with teacher expertise and the need for professional development on effective AI use in educational settings. The study highlights the potential of AI to support SEL implementation in classrooms.
