Abstract

This study investigates how principals perceive their influence on organizational well-being. Amidst challenges such as inadequate funding and increasing student needs, principals must enhance student outcomes while supporting staff well-being. Existing research highlights the negative impacts of these pressures on teachers and schools, emphasizing the importance of principal support in fostering positive organizational climates. This mixed-methods study uses positive psychology and organizational scholarship frameworks to examine principal practices linked to improved teacher well-being. Qualitative insights from principal interviews reveal seven key leadership actions that promote organizational well-being: being supportive, nurturing relationships, maintaining an open door, prioritizing well-being, valuing shared decision-making, leading authentically, and creating a common vision. These findings underscore the critical role of principals in enhancing school environments.
