Abstract

This study examines the nexus between research and teaching productivity among STEM faculty at a public research-intensive university. By employing cluster analysis and logistic regression on data from 553 faculty members, we explore how productivity correlates with faculty demographics, including position type, rank, gender, and discipline. Our findings reveal distinct productivity clusters, demonstrating varying degrees of research and teaching engagement across different faculty demographics. These insights underscore the need for tailored administrative strategies that enhance faculty development and ensure equitable resource distribution. By informing such strategies, this research aims to cultivate an efficient academic environment that supports a diverse range of teaching and research productivity within the university.
