How Are Robots Used in Education? Mapping the Robotics Resources Landscape on Teachers Pay Teachers (Poster 45)

Wed, April 23, 2:30 to 4:00pm MDT (2:30 to 4:00pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

TeachersPayTeachers.com (TPT) is a popular online marketplace for educator-generated materials, but there have been concerns about its quality and inclusivity. Robotics has the potential to transform STEM education, but faces challenges within formal education frameworks. This study systematically analyzed current trends, gaps and opportunities in robotics education resources on TPT. Findings indicate that STEM subjects are highly valued and affordable at all grade levels. Despite an upward trend in resource availability, download rates declined significantly, suggesting a need for quality assessment and alignment with educational standards. These insights are critical for educators and policymakers aiming to improve the effectiveness and inclusiveness of K-12 robotics education.
