Abstract

This study explores English language instructors' perspectives on implementing digital coursebooks as a digital learning environment, providing insights for design and instruction. Fifteen instructors from a private university participated, and thematic analysis was conducted on semi-structured interview data. The findings highlighted the instructors' belief in the necessity of integrating digital learning environments in language teaching, emphasizing the importance of an easy-to-use interface design and acknowledging technical challenges. They recognized the benefits of engaging students without physical books and the motivational advantages of digital resources. However, concerns were raised about a fully digital teaching environment, suggesting the need for teacher training to effectively use digital coursebooks.
