Sun, April 27, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

As the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes more widespread in K-12 classrooms, research is needed to support our understanding of its impact on teaching and learning. Towards this end, this study analyzes video reflections from teacher participants who were enrolled in a professional development program focused on AI integration. The study explores the dilemmas that participants encountered as they engaged with AI. Findings indicate that as teachers began experimenting with AI, their dilemmas shifted from being primarily pedagogical towards becoming increasingly ethical over time. Based on these insights, the article proposes recommendations for the design of future teacher professional development programs aimed at technology integration in education.
