Abstract

This qualitative study investigates the hegemonic curriculum’s intent to negate stories of representations, resistance and civic belonging of Asian Americans. Through several tenets of AsianCrit and Bahkin’s narrative analysis, we investigate how dominant narratives can be disrupted and dismantled by social studies teacher education candidates through critical pedagogical content knowledge and critical pedagogical practices.
